About State of Our Health

State of Our Health is a unique initiative developed by AstraZeneca that brings together employers, managed care executives, policy-makers, and other health care leaders for a half-day, interactive forum to address health care quality measurement and improvement.

In 2003, AstraZeneca sponsored its first State of Our Health forum. Since then, State of Our Health has grown to a nationwide initiative, with more than 20 states already hosting forums which feature dynamic exchanges, presentations, and panel discussions that address critical issues, compare state performance to regional and national benchmarks, exchange best practices, and provoke ideas about how to work together.

At the core of each forum is the belief that when health care policy-makers, thought leaders and executives work together, mutual goals of health care quality and value can be achieved. Oftentimes, achievements in health care quality do not get the recognition they deserve. One goal of State of Our Health is to have the forums result in the communication of measured health care quality improvement to employers, policy-makers, and to the public in general.
